Statement of Support on Healthcare Reform

Take action by   Monday, November 30, 2009

Stand Up for Healthcare Reform in October

Demonstrate your public support for this vitally important issue by initiating Healthcare Reform Awareness Activities during the Month of October:

1. Holding and/or participating in your local town hall meetings
2. Hosting local “Health Reform Action Forums”
3. Forming a roundtable discussion with local health professionals, community centers, seniors, health providers, caregivers, etc.
4. Get the message out by:

•  writing an Op Ed or a letter to the editor for publication in newspapers;
• issuing press releases about APRI chapter/affiliate events/activities;
• holding press conferences—consider partnering with other supportive groups, state and local elected officials, non-profits, and businesses supporting health insurance reform
• using online resources such as Facebook, blogs, or YouTube
• appearing on local radio or television shows in support of health insurance reform
