FAMU National Alumni Chapter Broward County Scholarship Gala(A. Philip Randolph Institute)

The theme for this elborate event was: “Alumni In Action: Sharing The Mission, Embracing the Vision.” The Gala is held every year to benefit the chapter scholarship giving to first time freshmen attending the University.

This year we had 11 scholarship recepients. Also the alumni chapter will honor five outstanding honorees in the persons of Congressman Kendrick Meek, Dr. Brenda Snipes, Henry Graham, Lt. Col Pearl Ferguson (retired) and Darryl “Mike” Payne.

The distinguished Torey Alston served as the guest speaker of the hour, a member of the Florida A&M University, Tallahassee, Florida Board of Trustees.

Sylvester “Chico The Virgo” Wesley was the Master of Ceremonies for this memorable event, and South Florida’s renowned radio personality of Fort Lauderdale Cox Radio, and surrounding areas and music entertainment was presented by D.J. Stan.
