APRI Northeast Regional Conference 2010

APRI Northeast Region Activists,
We are pleased to announce that
arrangements have been made for the 2010 APRI
Northeast Regional Conference beginning Friday,
March 5 through Sunday, March 7, 2010 at the
Westin Hotel, 1000 Penn Ave. Pittsburgh,
PA
15222 and will be hosted by the
Pittsburgh Chapter and President Sylvia
Wilson.
We are
encouraging everyone to make plans to attend
this informative conference as we move forward
in 2010.
We will really focus on our youth
program and we need everyone to make an effort
to bring as many youth to the conference as
possible.
In an effort to encourage more youth
participation there will be no registration fee
for the youth to attend, but each chapter will
be responsible for their travel and hotel
accommodations.
There will
be guest speakers, workshops and a special
workshop for the youth which will include the
history of APRI conducted by President Emeritus
Norman Hill.
The
Conference will begin on Friday, March 5th with
registration from 3:00p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the
Westin Hotel and continue on Saturday morning,
March 6th from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. at the
United Steelworkers Hall located at 60 Blvd of
the Allies which is a 10 minute walk from the
hotel or take the hotel shuttle. The
opening session starts Friday evening at 6:00
p.m. at the Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers
Hall located at 10 S. 19th St. Pittsburgh,
PA
15203 following the opening session
there will be a special reception to support
President Emeritus Hill’s endeavor to publish
his book and if each chapter would assist this
venture by giving a generous contribution it
would be greatly appreciated. The
Conference will conclude on Sunday, March 7th
with a wrap up session from 8:00 a.m. - 9:00
a.m. at the Westin
Hotel.
The hotel
room rate is $115.00 plus tax single/double.
The cutoff date for reservations at the Westin
Hotel is Friday, February 12, 2010.

The
conference registration fee is $100.00, which
includes all workshop materials, Friday evening
reception and Saturday luncheon and checks
should be made payable to APRI.
