Our 39^th Annual National Education Conference this year is going to be an exciting event. The mere fact that we will be gathering in Jacksonville, Florida, should energize us. That’s because Jacksonville is right next to Crescent City, the boyhood home of the APRI’s senior founder, A. Philip Randolph. This should inspire us to recall the great purpose of our organization: to advance the black labor alliance for racial equality and economic justice.

The 2008 National Education Conference as always will be a significant experience for all participants, providing us with information, networking opportunities, and leadership skills we need to implement the common agenda of blacks, the trade union movement, and working Americans.

I look forward to seeing each of you in Jacksonville, Florida. This is one conference you will not want to miss.

Hotel Reservations – Reservations can be made by calling the Crown Plaza Riverfront 1-800-227-6963/904-398-8800. The special group rate is $124.00, single or double. Identify yourself as an APRI participant to get the special hotel rate. Cut off date for the APRI rate is Monday, July 12, 2008.

APRI Y.O.U.T.H. Leadership Conference

The A. Philip Randolph Institute (APRI) is currently looking for High School Seniors and College Students to attend the Y.O.U.T.H. Leadership Conference of the A. Philip Randolph Institute from August 13‐17, 2008. The conference will be held in Jacksonville, Florida at the Crowne Plaza Jacksonville Riverfront Hotel.
