54th Annual National

Educational Conference

We are meeting ON PURPOSE!

2025's National Education Conference convened on

August 6-10, 2025 on the site of The Hilton Chicago in Chicago, Illinois.

The theme was

USING OUR STRENGTH & POWER THRU ACTION...

WE WERE BUILT FOR THIS!

APRI’s founder A. Philip Randolph, a pivotal figure in both the labor and civil rights movements, played a crucial and powerful role in

Chicago's history, particularly through his leadership of the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters (BSCP), the first all-Black labor union.

Randolph’s work in Chicago and beyond had a lasting impact on the labor movement and the civil rights struggle, and as we know, he

became a prominent figure in the fight for equality and justice for African Americans.

In a time where unions and the right to organize is under fire, we are reminded of the words of our Co-founder, Bayard Rustin, “The proof that one truly believes is in action.”

in 2025 year we celebrated our organizational milestones through ACTION. It clearly showed that we will not back down and that we will continue to FIGHT! Therefore, we followed our theme; “USING OUR STRENGTH & POWER THRU ACTION…WE WERE BUILT FOR THIS!”

We encouraged you to come prepared to engage in a serious way for the work ahead. WE STARTED FROM THE BASICS to   organize and mobilize our communities for the action needed to combat the ongoing social inequalities such as racial injustice, sexism, and denial of LGBTQIA rights.
