The #340B program was meant to be a lifeline – helping low-income, underserved, and marginalized communities afford essential medicines. But too often, hospitals collect discounts only to mark up drug prices, while families – many of them Black, Latino, Indigenous, rural – go without. That’s a broken promise.
The 340B ACCESS Act would bring much-needed accountability: transparency in pricing, guardrails so that discounts actually reduce patient costs, and limits on aggressive medical debt practices and excessive markups. It helps restore economic fairness, racial justice, and ensures that the benefits of 340B go where they belong – to the people.
Glad to see Congress taking action to protect communities and move us toward a healthier, more equitable future. https://buddycarter.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=15906
